On Shakespeare by John Milton

What needs my Shakespeare for his honor'd bones
The labour of an old in piled stones?
Or that his hallow'd relics should be hid
Under a star-y-pointing pyramid?
Dear son of memory, great heir of fame,
What need'st thou such weak witness of thy name?

"Seven Wonders" of the Ancient World

The Pyramids first, which in Egypt were laid;
Next Babylon's Gardens, for Amytis made;
Then Mausolos' Tomb of affection and guilt;
The Colossus of Rhodes, cast in brass, in the Sun;
Sixth, Jupiter's Statue, by Phidias done;
The Pharaos of Egypt comes last, we are told,
Or the Palace of Cyrus, cemented with gold.
